HAPPY BIRTHDAY PADOVA CONGRESS

Apr 7, 2023

Exactly one year ago, on April 7, 2022, in an exciting day of celebration attended by all the city’s institutions and economic categories, the long-awaited inauguration of the new Padova Congress Convention Center.

A date that marked the conclusion of a long journey-the construction site had also suffered delays due to Covid-and gave the city of Padua a truly extraordinary architectural jewel and business venue. A date that also marked the beginning of an exciting new journey involving the entire staff of Padua Hall.

Right from the start, the new facility has recorded really important numbers, becoming in a short time one of the reference realities of the Italian meeting industry: national and international organizers have shown their appreciation for the functionality, flexibility and contemporaneity of its spaces, but also for the very high level of technological equipment.

From international medical and scientific congresses to corporate conventions, up to large events dedicated to the world of innovation and new technologies, which combine the convention part with an exhibition part: during 2022 60 events were hosted for 80 days with the participation of more than 30 thousand congress attendees and 60 thousand total presences and a very significant induced activity for the territory.

Events in 2022
Among the major events hosted during the first year of activity were the 19th International Symposium on Dentistry organized by Sweden & Martina with 1,600 congress attendees (in June), the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence WCCI 2022, the world’s largest technical event dedicated to artificial intelligence with 1,600 researchers arriving from all over the world, and the SITI National Congress – Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health with 1,800 participants (in September). But also two events organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia, the Italian branch of the Frankfurt fair: the Mechatronics Forum (in October) and the Italian Machine Vision Forum (in November). Padua Congress also hosted the assembly that approved the merger between two of Italy’s most important territorial business associations, creating Confindustria Veneto Est Area Metropolitana Venezia Padova Rovigo Treviso. In February 2023, on the other hand, the XXVIII National Congress of Fiom-Cgil was held, with more than 600 union delegates arriving from all over Italy

The voices of the organizers
We have gathered below just a few of the many voices of organizers who chose Padua Congress for their events during 2022.

Matteo Bellomi, CEO Renbel Group Meeting & Events
“Our event was a stress test for Padova Congress because it was extremely complex organizationally speaking and had significant technical requirements, with work in 20 rooms in parallel. I must point out the perfect synergy between the staff of Padova Congress, Renbel Group and the European Universities involved. Despite the complicated period due to the anti-Covid 19 rules still partly in force the result was optimal from all points of view. Friendliness and hospitality, technical quality, unparalleled ledwalls combined with a high gastronomic experience of Italian cuisine were the winning factors. An excellent level of satisfaction that, according to the international board and participants, will be difficult to replicate in future editions hosted by other countries.”

Prof.Alessandro Sperduti, general chair WCCI – IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence
“Padova Congress is truly a place with an international vocation. The congress participants who arrived from all over the world were amazed by the beauty of its spaces, but also by the wonders that a city like Padua can offer”

Prof. Antonella Muraro, Past -President European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology -EAACI GA2LEN Executive Committee Member
“At Padova Congress I found a truly competent and qualified staff, who were able to support and accompany us in the construction of the event, responding to our requests with professionalism and attention to detail.”

Edonella Bresci, event manager TEDxPadova – co-founder Marmalade Agency
“Padova Congress is the only location in the city that allows us to host our community and hold an annual event with a live audience of 1500 people. And it is precisely the location that is one of the factors that contributes to making TEDxPAdova even more performant, thanks to the advanced audio-video equipment and the impressive ledwall that is in fact the real stage on which the talks are broadcast. Digital signage through the fifty monitors throughout the facility, with the program and signage, facilitates the management of such large numbers.”
