ASSOCIATION DAYS EUROPE KICKS OFF: PADUA BECOMES EUROPE’S CONGRESS CAPITAL

Feb 18, 2025

An appointment that will make Padua, for three days, the European capital of the meetings industry: Associations Days Europe 2025 opened this morning at Padua Congress, a reality within the Padua Hall exhibition center, an appointment that comes to Padua for the first time and connects the presidents of the main Italian and European medical-scientific associations with the most important
event organizing companies – Professional Congress Organizers (PCOs) – from all over Europe and with the references of destinations, congress centers and congress hotels.

Organized by Eureka MICE International, with the support and collaboration of Padova Congress, the event represents a unique platform to plan new congresses and create strategic partnerships. While in past years the event had a national dimension, the 2025 edition inaugurated today marks the opening on a European scale for the first time.

The 85 presidents of the medical-scientific associations taking part in the three-day event, arriving from all over Europe, are prominent academics who combine their research activities with their commitment to leading entities active in the organization of some of the largest medical-scientific congresses internationally. Key figures for the congress industry, because they often represent the principal “decision makers” with regard to the choice of destination.

More than 300 events will be negotiated during the B2B meetings, including about 80 with more than 500 participants and 40 with more than 1,000 attendees, with a total economic impact estimated at over 250 million euros for the destinations involved. The matching activity will also be accompanied by a program of meetings dedicated to reflecting on the challenges facing the future of the industry.

«Hosting an event of this level – explains Stefania De Toni, Head of Padova Congress – represents an important recognition of the activity carried out in the last three years by our conference center and of the leading role that Padua has assumed in the meeting industry panorama. Many of the main players in the industry in these days will have the opportunity to touch the potential of Padova Congress and we expect a really
important return both for our venue and for the destination, thanks to the connected services that the partnerships will be able to activate».

The initiative also sees the collaboration of the Padua Convention & Visitors Bureau (Consorzio DMO Padua), a tourism and convention promotion organization whose majority shareholder is the Chamber of Commerce, which will offer and organize a rich program of guided tours of the city's historical and artistic excellences and a day dedicated to the Palazzo del Bo: exclusive experiences and visits for national and
international convention professionals, thanks to the collaboration with the City of Padua and the University of Padua. There will also be moments dedicated to the local gastronomic tradition with visits to the Sotto Salone market, designed to enhance the culinary excellence of the area.
