With more than 1,300 people, the event between science and musical art that was held on Thursday, November 23 at the Sala Giotto in Padova Congress was truly sold out.
For the occasion, the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto conducted by Marco Angius performed the monumental symphonic suite The Planets by English composer Gustav Holst, accompanied by the video with images of the Solar System specially produced for the occasion by INAF – Astronomical Observatory of Padua in collaboration with Vis – Virtual Immersions in Science, broadcast on Europe’s largest LED mega-screen at Padova Congress.
Introducing the musical performance, INAF Director Roberto Ragazzoni gave a talk about the immersive listening of The Planets after greetings from Padua Chamber of Commerce President Antonio Santocono, Councilor for Productive Activities and Commerce, Antonio Bressa, and Vice President of the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, Paolo Giaretta.
The event featured a collaboration with the Padua Chamber of Commerce, INAF, Padua City Council and Padua Hall.
Padua was a preview of a tour that will take the show to as many as five Italian cities starting with Milan, Rome and Pisa.
